Gigon Guyer Architects and Atelier WW | Löwenbräu Art Complex, Zurich

Twenty-seven years of house-hunting has finally paid off for the Zurich's Kunsthalle, the contemporary art museum that nurtures emerging talents from across Europe, then welcomes them back after they find success.

Now the Kunsthalle has reopened permanently in a repurposed space within the Löwenbräu art complex, where it has been squatting for a decade and a half. Swiss firms Gigon/Guyer Architects andAtelier WW collaborated on the refurbishment, crowning the 19th-century former brewery with a thick beer foam-like white-concrete arcade that slices across the top from one vantage point and slides down in the rear to form its own four-storey structure.

Gigon Guyer - Prime Tower Zurich

The 126-metre high Prime Tower in Zurich West has already been showered with superlatives, even during the project phase; and for very good reason: Zurich's new landmark comprising 36 floors sets the new benchmark for commercial properties in terms of architecture, transparency, appeal and technical.
The decision that came out in favour of the Zurich architect team Gigon/Guyer was influenced among other things by the “crystalline exterior that stands apart from its neighbours, the fine movements and projections, the many uses of the large ground plan and the static design with the pre-stressed ceiling”

Housing Complex and Renovation Pflegi-Areal, Zurich | Gigon & Guyer
