Commisioned Study Residential Development Gellertstrassse, Basel

The new house form softly nestles into the existing situation and sets free the hidden geometry of the place, making a rich architectonic experience. This specific form is an excellent starting point for the proposed prestigious housing. In its proportions the building appears smaller than it really is. The main defining element of the place is how the building interlocks with the trees. Each of the eight apartments have differentiated orientations while maintaining necessary privacy. The concave balcony structures provides great outdoor spaces, which extend the living spaces outside and visually enlarge the space of the apartments interior.
